The Plant Life Cycle
The Life Cycle of a Bean Plant
A bean seed falls out of a bean and gets planted in the soil. After the bean gets a drink of water, it starts to grow roots that break through the outside layer of the seed called the seed coat. The roots go deep into the soil where they can drink more water and get food from the soil. Finally, the seed starts to sprout and the leaves come up towards the sunlight. This is called germination, and the seed is now called a seedling. The plant grows until it makes flowers, and the flowers turn into beans. Now, another bean seed can be planted!
